Ja.
Ik zie er nu eenmaal geweldig uit.
I want to be seen.
Yes.
It’s just that I look impeccable

I want to bury my trousers.
A final resting place.
I washed them for the final time last week.
Normally, I take them to the dry cleaner, but they’re no longer worth the investment.
A black wool pair I found, with a matching vest, at my favourite store.
Pure quality. Wool cut on the diagonal, size 26.
They fall straight from my hips.
A final goodbye.
What does it matter?
I replaced them with a pair from Armani.

When I wear black, I often get the comment that I look like an artist.
It’s quite strange when you think back to the fact that black used to be worn only for mourning.
Dressing oneself for death.
For a moment, it’s not about showing who you are.
You’re dressed coldly, with sharp shoulders that conceal your sunken back.
You’re not seeking attention.
You’re remembering together,
As a group, about just one person.
What the art world and the colour black have in common is not entirely clear to me.
But I do wonder :
What exactly are we mourning?

Almost everyone I’ve dated has ended up with a piece of my clothing.
Sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose.
I gave my first love a shirt.
Three weeks later, we didn’t speak anymore.
Another got shoes that didn’t fit me.
I still nod to him when we pass each other.
The last one found a shirt I’d left in his sheets.
The last time I touched him and my shirt.
White sheets, always with a coffee stain.
He should have washed them more often.
I’ve never got any clothes in return.
Only a pen.

I guess it’s cool to wear Belgian design?

The body is not merely a hanger for clothing; our relationship with textiles is intimate.
A pair of pants we wear every week warms not only our legs, but becomes part of ourselves.
Clothing is both performative and affirming: we reach for the same pieces repeatedly,
variations on the same idea, hoping to find something new.
It’s not just about rediscovering ourselves, but chasing the ultimate version of ourselves.
The pair of pants that fit you perfectly.

By definition, clothing means “pieces of fabric meant to cover the body”.
But then, can this still be called a garment?
I did not make it to be worn.
Does it serve any purpose for me now?
Am I, in some sense, covered?
I have never fully grasped the many roles that textiles can assume.
What truly separates a painting from a flag or a T-shirt?
Sometimes the woven surface becomes an object.
Sometimes it’s meant to be gazed upon.
Other times to be worn.

The nice weather is returning,
Finally, I can put away my coat for longer than just one
night.
I’m going to putt him on a wide coathanger in the closet up in
the attic.
I’ll let him rest there.
Time and again, with the arrival of the Easter bells,
we decide
to wear something that makes us cold in the evening.
I’m going to miss them,
but now it’s time for my summer collection.

This garment will naturally fade over time with wear and washing.
We recommend washing it inside out with similar colours.
If this is a concern, we suggest hand-washing the garment for the first few washes.
Do not sit on white sofas or any light-coloured surfaces,
and avoid wearing the garment with white or light-coloured clothing.
(I’m wearing nothing underneath )

This might be an important moment to mention that I am writing this text naked.
You can’t see me anyway.
